A multi-lingual, multi-currency Magento 2 website forming part of a suite of brand websites for The Huber Company.
The Huber Group has over 100 years of experience designing and producing bodywear. They produce luxury items using the highest quality materials, with the perfect fit and exceptional comfort. Huber Shop has more than 70 branches and is one of the largest garment stores in Austria.
Hanro is one of the many brands owned by the Huber Group of companies.
Absolute were approached to design and develop a multi-website, multi-storefront Magento 2 solution that would allow each individual brand to have their own website - all managed from a single installation. These in turn would have multiple storefronts for various languages and currencies. The primary website would be a ‘department store’ containing all products from the individual brand’s inventories along with additional brands from outside the group.
In addition to more standard functionality, the website also needed to consider click-and-collect, ‘shopping the look’ and the automation of stock, pricing, orders and dispatch. This was controlled by a Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP.
Absolute worked with Huber to develop a core theme for the main department store that would be inherited by all subsequent brands. However, overtime we adapted the core design with bespoke brand elements to reflect the individual product catalogues and brand personalities. The first site to launch was the Hanro German Language store, selling in Euros, with four further brand sites to follow in a multi language / multi currency configuration.
As a multi-brand company, the Vorarlberg-based company also owns leading international top brands such as Chantelle, Passionata and Falke in addition to the Skiny, Huber and Hanro brands. Managing a project of this nature with stakeholders in various countries meant effective project management was key to the successful launch of this project and it’s complexities.
Following on from the successful Hanro site launch, we next adapted the design and front end from the bespoke Hanro theme we created, to better reflect the Skiny brand personality and its user personas. We also modified the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP integration to account for stock levels across multiple store fronts, and to ensure order exports reflected brand-specific requirements.
The Huber brand website uses the Skiny storefront theme with minor design changes to reflect the Huber brand identity. Again, modifications were made to ensure data sent to Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP were appropriate for the website and a country specific price calculation used, as opposed to an automatic conversion based on currency. At present all 3 websites with the same Magento 2 installation are in German and transact in Euros. The next step will be for Absolute to create storefronts for each website, reflecting the various language and currency combinations required for the Huber Group to sell across Europe - adding English, plus GBP and CHF
"Throughout the project, the team have worked with us to meet all of our needs. We especially found John (web developer) to be very attentive, facilitating modifications and supportive with teaching the team on how to use the platform. Overall, we are extremely happy with the outcome of our website and would recommend Absolute for any brand wanting to set up a new website".
