Having worked with the University of Nottingham’s conferencing team for a number of years, we were delighted to be asked to carry out a redesign of their website. Following the launch of the Orchard Hotel in 2012, the East Midlands Conference Centre is now under the management of DeVere Venues. As such, the University required a new design for the Nottingham Conferences website to specifically promote their other academic conferencing facilities at University Park, Jubilee Campus and Sutton Bonington.
We created the original name, brand and sub-brands for Nottingham Conferences, the University of Nottingham's conference service. The CMS-based website we built included virtual tours, searching by event type and a news module. The look and feel of the site can be easily updated based on the new designs created by our design team. This is actually the third design that has been applied to the site, allowing the marketing team to respond to changes in their marketplace, while retaining the bespoke functionality and content within the CMS and avoiding the need for additional training and population. We also carried out search engine optimisation, improving keyword density and internal linking to help search engines rank the site higher. Nottingham Conferences now receive hundreds more leads every month, many of which come from our ongoing Google AdWords pay-per-click campaign.
