Nuchido wanted to elevate their Shopify store with a new theme to enhance functionality and scalability.
With Nuchido already on the Shopify platform, the project was less about migration and focused on making full use of Shopify’s capabilities. This included improving workflows with HubSpot, reviewing their current apps and how they impacted performance. Nuchido also required a tailored navigation for logged-in trade customers.
In addition to the technical improvements, Nuchido wanted to enhance their site visually with more modern layout options, larger imagery, simplified navigation and design consistency across all pages. The new store needed to balance strong visual impact with ease of management, performance and scalability, ready to grow alongside their business.
With clear goals set from the start, we helped Nuchido shape a Shopify store that enhances their brand presence and boosts performance.
We began with a detailed discovery and technical review to understand Nuchido’s current setup and opportunities for improvement within the Shopify ecosystem. As a single-product brand with a growing customer and partner base, it was clear the new store needed to do more than just look good. The website had to support future growth, streamline admin tasks and enhance partner engagement. The technical review followed by a theme discovery session.
Taking in the knowledge we gained in our initial discovery session, we carefully selected a theme that was perfect for the Nuchido brand, with features that included clear USP visibility, visual storytelling, slide-out cart, carousels and accordions for organising content.
During the technical specification phase, we explored the impact of continuing with Recharge for their product subscriptions, vs. migrating to Shopify's subscription tools. Following our deep dive, we recommended continuing to use Recharge and assisted Nuchido to upgrade to Recharge's current version both in-app and the Shopify integration.
Beyond technical discovery and integrations, several key front end improvements were implemented. This included locked partner-only content, alternate navigation for logged-in partners and the ability to apply trade-specific discounts automatically. We also developed a consistent design system across all pages to improve usability and visual cohesion.
We worked closely with the Nuchido team to help refine the overall content structure, focusing on clarity and ease of navigation. With our in-depth training, Nuchido carefully planned landing pages and populated them to reflect the brand’s scientific messaging.
To simplify backend management, we configured the core Shopify admin settings including contact forms, email templates and cookie banners, and reviewed key analytics tools such as GA4, Facebook Pixel and GTM to ensure accurate tracking was in place from launch. The final result was a flexible, fast and user-friendly Shopify store that serves both customers and partners while keeping content management simple.
As the project progressed, Nuchido made the decision to upgrade to Shopify Plus to futureproof their store and support long-term growthand to benefit from advanced platform features down the line.
While no Shopify Plus specific functionality was required during this initial phase of the project, we ensured the site was architected with future scalability in mind. With customised checkout and enchanced B2B, Nuchido will work with us in the coming months to enhance their Shopify Plus store and introduce improved partner and B2B capabilities that Shopify Plus provides.
Additionally, around this time their product packaging underwent a redesign and the Nuchido team were keen to explore the possibility of new product photography and mentioned it to us to see if this was something we were open to adding to the project. Indeed it was, and our creative studio booked in a date to produce a library of product photos they could use on their website.
The site went through a meticulous QA process before launch, with both front-end and back-end testing, performance reviews and essential technical SEO checks. We first launched the UK website, followed by the US website. Launch was carefully coordinated, ensuring minimal disruption and a smooth transition to the new theme.
